HVAC Commissioning
We provide proven HVAC commissioning services which ensure your systems are designed, installed, and functioning to meet or exceed industry standards as well as your own specific requirements. This process optimizes your system's efficiency; reducing operating costs and improving comfort levels. We offer commissioning services for new and existing systems as well as ongoing monitoring.
Pre-Commissioning Review & Documentation Assessment
Commissioning begins with a detailed review of design documents, control sequences, and mechanical submittals. This phase ensures that HVAC systems have been installed according to design intent and applicable standards. A commissioning plan is developed, outlining testing procedures, documentation requirements, and acceptance criteria.
Functional Performance Testing
Functional testing verifies that each component of the HVAC system operates as intended. Equipment is tested under various load conditions to confirm that it performs efficiently and safely. This includes testing of fans, pumps, dampers, VAV boxes, and unitary equipment for responsiveness and integration with the building automation system.
Controls Verification & Calibration
Controls systems are examined to ensure accurate calibration and alignment with the specified control sequences. Sensors, actuators, and programmable logic are tested for functionality, and set points are verified. The building automation system is evaluated to ensure alarms, scheduling, and user interfaces perform as expected.

System Balancing Verification
Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing (TAB) reports are reviewed to confirm proper air and water flow throughout the HVAC system. Verifications include pressure measurements, temperature differentials, and flow rates to ensure that all zones receive adequate heating and cooling in alignment with the design.
Deficiency Identification & Resolution
Any deficiencies found during testing are documented in a commissioning issues log. Our team then works to resolve any potential anomalies, tracking all corrective actions. Once issues are addressed, retesting is performed to validate compliance with performance requirements.
Final Reporting & Owner Training Support
At project closeout, a comprehensive commissioning report is provided, detailing system performance, test results, and outstanding issues, if any. We will also assist in reviewing O&M manuals and support training sessions to ensure building operators are fully equipped to maintain and operate the HVAC systems effectively.
